January - June 2003 News
Enduring a grueling stint the first week of June with the NYC Allstars on the island of Provenciales, Turks and Cacios, somehow Jeff got through it all without spilling any of the Pina Coladas, or getting eaten by either of the two 10 ft sharks he saw while scuba diving..... or even injuring his neck from drive-by, topless, half bikini-clad "Mermels" he encountered during his tenure on the island near Cuba and Haiti.... As it has been said before, "Life is a beach!!".....ah well, back to real work.... ![]() photo: Dave Livolsi
It was almost 15 years ago when Jeff and Joe worked together for the better part of a year, on a world tour including Australia, Europe and the US. As synchronicity would have it, just before CSN's set was The Subdudes, who are not only one of Jeff's favorites, but also includes musicians Jeff is collaborating with songs on his debut solo release. (Jeff was invited to sit in for the "Dudes"encore at the House Of Blues a few nights earlier). Jeff insisted that his partner, David Crosby come out to see the Dudes set before CSN played...To everyone's surprise all three CSN joined Jeff sidestage for the inspired event. "It was a joy for all concerned!" Peev reported. "The Dudes played their ****** hearts out!" ![]() John Magne of the Subdudes, Peev and Stephen Stills at Jazzfest- photo: M Erlanger
