2001 News
On Dec 5th, Jeff Pevar joined his CPR partner, David Crosby for a fund raiser also headlined by Don Henley for the families of the victims of Flight 11 and the Sept 11th attack on the US in Lowell, MA at the Tsongas Arena. Peev and Cros played 4 songs; 2 acoustic duets and 2 songs accompanied by Henley's incredible band. Crosby's classic "Long Time Gone" and "Page 43" were performed, as well as the Crosby/Pevar compositions, "Little Blind Fish" and the rocker "Katie Did" (which got the whole dang arena rockin!) Over $300,000 were raised by the efforts for the victims families.

On Fri and Sat Nov 23 and 24, during Pevar's annual Thanksgiving weekend of hometown gigs, Jeff and his "band du jour" smoked the Maple Tree in Simsbury, CT once again!! On Sat, Max Creek guitarist, Scott Murawski joined the ensemble for an evening of jamming and way too much fun. The Maple Tree roof is currently being checked for damage......

In November Jeff joined his pals Steve Postel and Michael Jude (from the band Little Blue) in Aspen for a new CD and band project called "A Little Less Blue". This new CD, which should be available for Xmas, features original compositions and some covers from the lads in a primarily acoustic environment. Peev is featured on guitars, mandolin, lap steel and dobro. Ordering info will be available here asap so stay tuned.

Jeff and co-producer/engineer Les Kahn hard at work at Les's Curved Air Studios located in Boulders Sunshine Canyon. On this particular Halloween outing Jeff has enlisted ex-Subdudes members Steve Amedee (perc) and John Magnie (keys) to help out with some of Jeff's original songs. Jeff plans to record with various musical combinations in the coming months to eventually put out a debut CD.

Jeff played w/ Narada guitar artist Artie Traum at this months Catalina Jazz Festival also with Tony Levin on bass and Neil Wilkinson on drums (not pictured) - 10/20/01 ![]() On Saturday, Oct 13th, CPR performed at the Maui Cultural Arts Center for locals and numerous KFOG contest winners. Opening act Gail Swanson was joined by Doobie Brother, Pat Simmons, who ending up jamming with Peev while he was on the island. (Rumor has it that the "Shaka" scuba diving was also excellent!)

Jeff and Clint mug for the camera backstage at the recent annual Arts Outreach Valley Music Benefit put on by David and Jan Crosby to contribute to the Music and Arts funding for the school children of the Santa Ynez Valley. Clint brought in his 11 piece band and was a fantastic performer. CPR, as usual, were on top of their game. Both shows were entirely sold out. Jeff recently completed another tour with the ensemble "Jazz Is Dead" performing interpretive versions of Grateful Dead material. This amazing quartet also includes Alphonzo Johnson on bass (from Weather Report, Santana, Other Ones) and T-Lavitz & Rod Morgenstein on keys and drums (from The Dixie Dregs). During the Jazz Is Dead tour March, 2001, 3 of the 27 shows included a double bill with LITTLE FEAT guitarists Paul Barrere and Fred Tackett, performing classic LF tunes as a duo. Jeff joined Paul and Fred playing his 1950 Oahu Lap Steel on the classic Lowell George song, "Willin". Later in the JID show, Paul and Fred joined on to play "Tennessse Jed","Down On The Farm","Casey Jones" and "Dixie Chicken" with the full band. Jeff said, "It was absolutely a dream come true for me. On 4/20 Jeff joined Scott Murawki (Max Creek), Mike Gordon (Phish), Lee Shusterman and Greg Degugliamo at the Living Room in Providence, RI for Scott's Solo CD Release Party for his newly released Scottness/Stormfield CD. Jeff has also been a guest at numerous Max Creek shows over the last few years. Info regarding sit-in dates are often posted to the Tour and Gigs page or the message board. At this years NAMM show in Anaheim, Jeff performed for Taylor Guitars with his own acoustic "trio du jour "on Sun, Jan 21st, featuring CPR's Steve Distanislao on percussion and Mark Epstein, bassist from the Johnny Winter Band.
