Jeff Travels To Belguim with Morris Pleasure

Jeff Pevar & Morris Pleasure w/ Ray Charles 1986

Morris and Jeff go back for decades. They toured together side by side in The Ray Charles Orchestra back in the 80's and did gigs with Ray in The Ray Charles Quartet with various symphony orchestras around the world. See www.youtube.com/watch?v=5U5evPxGq6Q
Since then Morris has been a busy guy, touring with bands like Earth, Wind and Fire, Christina Aguilera, Janet Jackson and was in Michael Jackson's "This Is It" band, to name a few. Morris recently invited Jeff to play guitar with him on bass for "A Celebration Of Earth Wind & Fire" In Brussels Belguim, in late August at the Grounds Of Chateau de Bois-Seigneur- Isaac, a former feudal fortress from the 18th century. Jeff is busy learning a lot of the EW&F songs for the special event.

After over 20 years of working together, Jeff was invited to join Rickie Lee Jones to perform a free concert on the Santa Monica Pier on August 5th at 7 pm. Rickie has decided to perform music mostly from her first 2 records and reached out to Jeff, as they toured together in the 80's after Rickie released her 2nd record, Pirates. This was Jeff's first major tour experience. Jeff toured with Rickie numerous times after that first tour in 1983, which was his first opportunity to travel to Europe, Scandinavia, Israel, playing jazz festivals and beautiful stages such as Red Rocks, and more. 'The first tour I went on with Rickie changed my life. I went from traveling in a van, playing in clubs in New England, to traveling by plane playing at world re-known venues. I have to credit my dear friend Michael Ruff for getting me the gig. He was the bandleader at the time and he wanted me on the tour with them. I haven't been the same person since and I'm thrilled for this opportunity to reunite with one of my favorite singer songwriters in the world. We'll see if some more gigs come up later in the year." Also joining Rickie from that original line up is bassist, Reggie McBride, who has toured and recorded with some of the finest including Stevie Wonder, Keb Mo and many others.

Michael Jackson Tribute Tour In Japan and Korea in March

Jeff was contacted by his long time friend and Ray Charles Orchestra co-bandmate, Morris Pleasure, who was in the recent "This Is It" Movie, which was filmed while Morris was rehearsing for MJ's World Tour. This tour will perform of a cross-section of MJ's music in Osaka and Seoul in late March.

The "Who Is It"band consists of incredible musicians, singers and dance performances choreographed from Cirque Du Soleil.

"This proves to be quite a unique experience. I'm thrilled to have the honor to play Michael's music in light of his untimely passing." Jeff reported, just before he left the states.
